There are many types of woven in the world. Here shows a reference below several basic types of weaving.
Plain weave (Taffeta)
A texture that alternates warp and welt yarns one by one. This type is one of most rugged and practical type of fabric. Calico represents this type.
Twill (Diagonal weave)
A texture that alternates warp and welt diagonally and makes a pattern. This type has shiner and feeling soft surface than those of Plain weave. Because of its texture rather dense, this type is good at light blocking effect. Serge represents this type.
Satin
A texture having much floating yarns that alternates warp and welt at a regular interval. This type having shine surface looks gorgeous, but weak at friction.
